CarrefourSA, a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding, has opened its 400th franchise, furthering its support for small merchants through its franchise system. With its “New Generation Market” concept, CarrefourSA continues to grow, as stated by Doğrusu CarrefourSA.
As a pioneer brand in Turkey’s retail sector, Sabancı Holding’s subsidiary CarrefourSA operates 1,100 stores and employs 11,000 people across 60 cities. Offering over 50,000 product varieties, CarrefourSA ensures the right products reach customers at the right prices from the right producers while supporting small merchants and entrepreneurs through its franchise system.
CarrefourSA recently opened its 400th franchise in Bakırköy, Istanbul. Bulut Batum, Executive Board Member and Deputy General Manager of CarrefourSA, emphasized the importance of supporting economic development for the sustainability of the sector. He highlighted the significance of involving small merchants and entrepreneurs in the organized food retail sector. Through the franchise system, CarrefourSA provides small and medium-sized merchants and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to trade under the CarrefourSA brand’s assurance. By offering the CarrefourSA guarantee, the company aims to make these merchants an integral part of its family, leveraging their knowledge of the local area and neighborhood.
Batum stated that CarrefourSA does not charge franchise fees from participating entrepreneurs and supports their commercial activities. He emphasized the value of the franchise system for both the organized food retail sector and the Turkish economy. The system facilitates consumer access to CarrefourSA quality and experience while providing profitable investment opportunities for small merchants and entrepreneurs. Additionally, it creates employment opportunities in the regions where the franchises are located.
Furthermore, Batum highlighted that CarrefourSA pioneered the franchise system in the organized food retail sector. Through this system, CarrefourSA aims to provide consumers with access to its quality and experience while offering profitable investment opportunities for small merchants and entrepreneurs. He emphasized that the biggest advantage of the franchise system is that merchants and entrepreneurs feel the strength of both the international Carrefour and Sabancı brands behind them.
CarrefourSA provides support to merchants in various areas such as product and inventory management, IT systems, logistics processes, design, and accounting. Additionally, due to its significant purchasing power, CarrefourSA enables its franchisees to access products at more favorable prices, which they can then pass on to customers, providing them with the same price advantage.
Batum concluded by stating that CarrefourSA is making steady progress towards its three-year goal of reaching 1,000 franchisees. The company is proud and happy about the interest in its franchise system and the CarrefourSA guarantee. In the future, CarrefourSA plans to increase the number of female franchisees, currently at 60, and continue growing with small merchants and entrepreneurs through its franchise system.
