“BSH Türkiye’s Bold Move Towards Renewable Energy Transformation” BSH Türkiye Takes a Major Step Towards Renewable Energy

BSH Türkiye has taken a significant step in its renewable energy transformation as part of its sustainability goals. The energy consumption of its material warehouse in Çerkezköy will now be met through photovoltaic panels installed on its roof. Covering an area roughly the size of four football fields, these panels are expected to generate 3 GWh of energy annually, preventing approximately 1,370 tons of CO₂ emissions.

Continuing its sustainability-focused transformation, BSH Türkiye remains committed to its climate and environmental pledges. The photovoltaic (PV) panels installed on the roof of the material warehouse in its massive Çerkezköy production facility have started generating renewable energy. These panels will not only cover the warehouse’s entire annual electricity demand but will also contribute to three percent of the entire facility’s annual electricity consumption. This move marks a crucial milestone in reducing the company’s environmental footprint and promoting the use of green energy in industrial operations.

The project, spearheaded by BSH’s Çerkezköy Facility Management and Türkiye Sustainability, Environmental, and Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) teams, aims to enhance resource efficiency and expand the use of renewable energy in operations. By fully meeting the warehouse’s energy needs through renewable sources, the project will significantly contribute to reducing the carbon footprint of the entire Çerkezköy campus.

Increasing Renewable Energy Production

In the second phase of the project, BSH plans to install additional PV systems on other suitable rooftops within the Çerkezköy campus to further increase green energy production. Since 2020, BSH has achieved carbon-neutral status in all its locations for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions. While supporting carbon offset projects for unavoidable emissions, the company is also actively working towards its ambitious goal of sourcing 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
