AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya
Bicycle Enthusiasts Gathered at AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya. AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya powered by AG Tohum took place in Kemer with the participation of 580 athletes.
Supported by AKRA Hotels and AG Tohum, the 6th edition of AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya powered by AG Tohum brought together bicycle enthusiasts against the backdrop of Kemer’s unique scenery. Organized under the slogan “Be a part of Blue and Green,” the event was sponsored by Fraport TAV Antalya Airport, Corendon Airlines, and Diana Travel. A total of 580 athletes participated in the race, held in Kemer, one of Turkey’s major tourism centers.
Organized by Argeus Travel & Events and Yedi İletişim, with the support of the Governorship of Antalya, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Turkish Cycling Federation, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Kemer Municipality, and Konyaaltı Municipality, as well as contributions from Life Hospitals, Ceysu, Salcano, Paloma Hotels, Antalya Aquarium, Shimano, Zemzem Turizm, and Olympos Cable Car, the race brought together bicycle enthusiasts. Since 2018, AKRA Gran Fondo Antalya powered by AG Tohum has been uniting amateur road cyclists amidst the natural beauty of the region, offering fiercely contested races. The event, consisting of two separate tracks of 98km and 49km, provided colorful visuals.
The start at Kemer Olbia Park was attended by Antalya Deputy Governor Yalçın Sezgin, Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu, Kemer District Gendarmerie Commander Ömer Seyhan, Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yavuz Gürhan, BHM Hotel Management Board Chairman Haydar Barut, BHM Hotel Management Board Member Ali Ramiz Barut, AKRA Hotel Kemer General Manager Asım Kıpçak, Life Hospitals Group Chairman of the Board Cemal Özkan, and President of the Mediterranean Advertisers Association Fulya Sarman.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MOBILITY SPONSOR: TOYOTA TURKEY
Toyota, known for its environmentally friendly initiatives and vehicles, supported AKRA Gran Fondo as the mobility sponsor with its hybrid vehicles.
Under the theme “Be a part of Blue and Green,” emphasizing environmental consciousness, Toyota Turkey provided support to AKRA Gran Fondo. Toyota Turkey supported the race and athletes as the mobility sponsor with its hybrid vehicles.
WINNERS OF 98K AND 49K RACES
In the 98km track of AKRA Gran Fondo, Asperox Bikepedia Racing Team’s Anton Hrabovckyi secured first place with a time of 2:55:47.01. In the men’s category, Ömer Cumhur Boyraz from FTA Sports Team came second with a time of 3:02:40.51, followed by Ataman Şekerci from Nashira Spor Kulübü with a time of 3:03:57.50. Among women, Melike Çakır took first place with a time of 3:18:01.84, followed by Şeniz Pamuk from Rise Performance Club with a time of 3:20:18.16, and Züleyha Dikbaş from Asperox Bikepedia Racing Team with a time of 3:56:55.28.
In the 49km track, Yağız Atıcı from Asperox Bikepedia Racing Team secured first place among men with a time of 1:14:02.55. He was followed by Ege Onat Doğulşu from Asperox Bikepedia Racing Team with a time of 1:14:03.04, and Cengiz Güner from Asperox Bikepedia Racing Team with a time of 1:18:05.70. Among women, Sevcan Alper from Asperox Bikepedia Racing Team took first place with a time of 1:19:54.74, followed by Gökçe Demirsoy and Buket Demirci from Maltepe Cycling Club-Mcc with times of 1:22:56.75 and 1:23:01.11, respectively.
