KOROPLAST and CSR PLASTIC Forge Strategic Partnership for Sustainability. Turkey’s leading and responsible brand, Koroplast, has added another successful partnership in environmental sustainability to its portfolio.

With its technological infrastructure and high industry standards, Koroplast aims to increase the use of recycled materials in garbage bags to 35% by 2024 through a strategic partnership with CSR Plastic, which boasts Turkey’s most advanced plastic recycling facility.

Koroplast, known for its strong R&D investments that bring industry-first innovations to consumers, produces products tailored to the needs and expectations of consumers with its 15,500-ton extrusion capacity and over 100 machines and auxiliary lines equipped with state-of-the-art technology. With a wide range of products spanning garbage bags, cooking, storage, and cleaning categories, Koroplast facilitates consumers’ lives in every aspect.

Uniting all sustainability projects under the umbrella slogan “Together for a Livable World,” Koroplast continues its efforts to raise awareness of environmental sustainability. In this context, Koroplast has initiated yet another strategic partnership to collaborate on new projects with CSR Plastic, which operates a 30,000 m² facility for hazardous waste collection and recycling activities.

In the framework of the partnership contributing to the circular economy, Koroplast will purchase raw materials recycled at CSR Plastic’s advanced technology-equipped facility to use in garbage bag production, leveraging its technological infrastructure and advanced industry standards.

Ersen Yılmaz, Operations Director at Koroplast, stated, “With 43 years of expertise, technological equipment, and a specialized sales and marketing team, we are the leading brand in the sector. We lead the industry with our innovations, make consumers’ lives easier, and fulfill our responsibilities to the environment and society through various partnerships and projects. We are excited to come together with CSR Plastic under common goals to contribute to the circular economy. Through this partnership, we will soon be able to produce our garbage bags from 100% recycled raw materials and aim to increase our use of recycled materials to 35% by 2024. Additionally, while becoming a company compliant with certified recycled raw material quotas required by regulations in our target export market, Europe, we will strengthen our competitive position in export markets.”

CSR Plastic, with its waste management and recycling activities, sets an example of operational excellence in terms of efficiency, compliance with local and international regulations, and environmentally friendly operations. Equipped with a strong infrastructure and knowledge base contributing to circular economy models, CSR Plastic invests in renewable energy sources and operates a wastewater treatment plant that minimizes water consumption. Wastewater used in the washing process is treated at the Integrated Wastewater Treatment Plant and continuously reused in a closed loop, ensuring zero wastewater discharge from the facilities.

Ali Sarp Bingöl, General Manager of CSR Plastic, expressed, “We are pleased to produce joint projects with Koroplast, a leading company in its sector, sharing the same goal. By prioritizing environmental sustainability at all times, we aim to further advance our strategic partnership. With Turkey’s most advanced recycling facility, we aspire to raise industry standards and set an example for other companies in the sector to implement eco-friendly practices.”
