President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier Visits DHL Express Turkey’s Operations Center at Istanbul Airport. On April 24, 2024, President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and a high-level delegation visited the operations center of DHL Express Turkey at Istanbul Airport, where they met with company executives.
As part of the official visit to Turkey on April 22-24, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Turkish-German diplomatic relations, President of Germany Steinmeier visited the operations center of DHL Express Turkey at Istanbul Airport, which was inaugurated with an investment of 135 million Euros. Approximately 70 members of the delegation were hosted by DHL Express Turkey’s General Manager, Volkan Demiroğlu, and his deputy general managers, along with Mustafa Tonguç, who was appointed CEO of DHL Express Germany last year.
Volkan Demiroğlu, General Manager of DHL Express Turkey, commented on the visit: “There has always been a long-standing and strong bond between Turkey and Germany. We were greatly honored that President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the high-level delegation included our operations center at Istanbul Airport in their busy visit program.”
Demiroğlu emphasized that DHL Group’s investments in Turkey have never been misguided and added, “We have invested a total of 135 million Euros in our operations center at Istanbul Airport, allocating 30% of the investment amount to technological infrastructure. Our investments continue to increase, and we will continue this trend in the upcoming period.”
