Tekfen has forged a “power alliance” with Enerjisa Production as part of its growth strategy in renewable energy solutions and investments. By signing an Intent Letter, two of Turkey’s leading organizations aim to utilize their expertise towards the same goal.

Tekfen and Enerjisa Production will collaborate on a high-capacity, green hydrogen-green ammonia project. The goal is to combine Tekfen’s expertise in engineering and industrial construction with Enerjisa Production’s experience in renewable energy.

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) implemented by the European Union (EU) to combat climate change is bringing significant changes to carbon-intensive sectors. The fertilizer industry is among the sectors directly affected by this mechanism.

Tekfen Holding’s subsidiary, Toros Tarım, is the largest fertilizer producer in Turkey in terms of total installed production capacity and tonnage. Through this project, Toros aims to establish a joint facility with Enerjisa Production to produce low-carbon footprint green ammonia, which it will use to meet its own production needs and for domestic and international sales.

Hakan Göral, President of Tekfen Group Companies, stated that with the signing of the Intent Letter, they are taking another important step in their growth strategies in renewable energy solutions and investments. He emphasized the significance of the “green ammonia-green hydrogen” topic in Tekfen’s green energy-focused transformation.

Göral highlighted that the project aims to reduce Toros’s carbon footprint and facilitate access to international markets by using green ammonia. The collaboration with Enerjisa Production is expected to leverage the expertise and experience of both companies to capitalize on the rapidly growing demand for green hydrogen-green ammonia.

Emre Erdoğan, Deputy General Manager of Operations and Technical Affairs at Enerjisa Production, emphasized their commitment to sustainability in all operations. He highlighted their Bandırma Energy Hub as a strategic asset in Turkey’s energy supply security and expressed satisfaction in taking the first step towards establishing a green ammonia facility with Tekfen. Erdoğan believes that this collaboration will be a significant step in building a sustainable future.

The collaboration between Tekfen and Enerjisa Production is expected to accelerate green energy investments in Turkey and contribute to the country’s transition towards sustainability.
