Tiryaki Agro, a leading global agricultural supply chain company, has signed a significant agreement with Tüpraş, Turkey's largest industrial company, to supply waste oils as raw materials for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production. Leveraging its expertise in global agricultural product sourcing and processing, Tiryaki Agro will provide second-generation waste oils derived from plant and animal residues for the sustainable aviation fuel initiative planned by Tüpraş in Turkey.

Tiryaki Agro to Supply Raw Materials to Tüpraş for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production

Tiryaki Agro, a leading global agricultural supply chain company, has signed a significant agreement with Tüpraş, Turkey’s largest industrial company, to supply waste oils as raw materials for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production. Leveraging its expertise in global agricultural product sourcing and processing, Tiryaki Agro will provide second-generation waste oils derived from plant and animal residues for the sustainable aviation fuel initiative planned by Tüpraş in Turkey.

Tiryaki Agro, known for its commitment to sustainable bioeconomic activities, considers this agreement as a cornerstone of its growth strategy. By partnering with Tüpraş, the company aims to merge its expertise in agricultural product supply chains with the experience of Turkey’s leading industrial and energy player to contribute to the production of sustainable aviation fuel.

For this project, Tiryaki Agro will utilize its global supply chain management capabilities and invest nearly $100 million to establish cleaning and pre-processing facilities. As per the agreement, Tüpraş and Tiryaki Agro will commence trading in SAF raw materials from 2025 onwards. Following the completion of Tüpraş‘s SAF production facility, Tiryaki Agro will supply raw materials to Tüpraş for a period of 10 years.

Commenting on the partnership, Süleyman Tiryakioğlu, CEO of Tiryaki Agro, described the company as a key player in the bioeconomy field, emphasizing their focus on renewable biological resources processing to create value in food, feed, chemical, and energy sectors. He expressed delight in signing a long-term raw material supply agreement for Tüpraş‘s planned sustainable aviation fuel production facility, aiming to support Turkey’s leadership in the SAF sector.
