Trouw Nutrition Guides the Poultry Sector with Academic and Scientific Studies. Trouw Nutrition Turkey, which makes serious investments in innovation to support its customers in raising healthy farm animals, also attracts attention with its scientific studies.
Most recently, the trial results of the company’s product Fylax Flow were published in the Turkish Journal of Agriculture, Food Science and Technology. The preparation process of the article, which achieved this success, was carried out by Dr. Kazım Bilgeçli, Product Group Manager of Trouw Nutrition Turkey Feed Additives and Animal Health, and Dr. Faculty Member Duygu Budak from the Department of Animal Nutrition and Feeding Diseases at Aksaray University. Dr. Kazım Bilgeçli shared the following information regarding the published articles: “When we look at the commercial feed and feed production in Turkey, we see that approximately 14 million 569 thousand mt of feed is produced annually.
We can classify the enterprises producing these feeds as large, medium, and small-scale enterprises according to their annual production. While the largest share in production is with 62% in large enterprises, medium and small-scale enterprises follow with 23% and 15%, respectively.
Each enterprise implements different practices in many production points from raw material to packaging in order to produce quality feed for the final users. At this point, we conducted a scientific study on our product Fylax Flow, which is a combination of organic acid and surfactant that contributes to product quality and business economics of feed producers.
The aim of our study was to measure the contribution of Fylax Flow to the enterprise and feed quality with only the addition of Fylax Flow to commercial feed factories operating under their own conditions in Turkey without any intervention in routine operations.”
Results Published in Turkish Journal of Agriculture, Food Science and Technology
Dr. Kazım Bilgeçli, who stated that they achieved satisfactory results in the energy saving and moisture optimization stages in the production process, said: “Based on the results we obtained, we wrote an academic article with Dr. Faculty Member Duygu Budak from the Department of Animal Nutrition and Feeding Diseases at Aksaray University.
Our article was published in the Turkish Journal of Agriculture, Food Science and Technology. Our research is very valuable because it is supported by independent scientific studies as well as showing the contribution and gain of the product to the producer without making any changes in the existing production facilities in our country’s conditions. We aim for our study to benefit all producers and the industry.”
Poster Presentation at the International Animal Nutrition Congress
Dr. Kazım Bilgeçli, who stated that their published articles were accompanied by poster presentations titled ‘The Effects of Gluconic Acid Use on Intestinal Health and Performance in Dairy Cattle’ at the 4th International Animal Nutrition Congress, said the following about the subject: “There are many reasons for choosing this topic in our poster presentation.
Firstly, the rumen has become an important focus point in many areas of ruminant nutrition. Furthermore, interest in hindgut control is increasing due to its close association with animal health and performance. Gluconic acid addition is fermented by gluconate lactic acid bacteria and acid-utilizing bacteria, lactic acid bacteria produce lactate and acetate from gluconate.
Then, acid-utilizing bacteria convert gluconate into butyrate with lactate and acetate. As a result, volatile fatty acid production in the intestines increases. This increase in volatile fatty acid levels not only contributes to the preservation of intestinal health but also has positive effects on production and performance.”
As a global company that believes that proper nutrition and good farm management can transform the industry and even the planet, Dr. Kazım Bilgeçli emphasized that they are moving forward in the light of science and technology. He concluded by stating that they will continue to contribute to the sector with projects and studies they believe will benefit.
